WEEK(end) at the Farmers' Market
You guysssss, it's basically the week(end) and if you didn't know it's about that time. SHOPPING!
But of course my favoritekind. Grocery shopping--at the Farmers' Market. So throw on whatever's comfortable and in case your a little hungover from last night's shenanigans just pull out the over-sized sunnies and leh-gooo.
At the Farmers' Market:
Some things in life are as easy as they look, touch, feel and of course taste. And I know, I know you're tired of the food recalls and over processed foods in your grocery stores: so, trust me local is the way to go.
Go out and meet your neighbors. See what they've got going on in their kitchens and on their local farms. I've had some of the best conversations with strangers and gotten some of the best tips & tricks for my hangry (an amalgam of hungry and angry) self.
Oh and don't forget why we're even here: Pick up all your local produce without all the poisonous pesticides and disgusting growth hormones. Be sure to grab some flowers for the kitchen table because, details.
And what better place to get your grub on? Try a new herbal spiced tea or that lemon jerked fried fish from that vendor you only see once a weekend. (c'mon treat yo' self Sundaze--definitely a thing) Besides what better way to stimulate the local economy. You good samaritian, you!
I mean seriously, what else on earth could be better than being a domestic tourist?! Luckily this year's Baltimore's Farmers' Market & Bazaar goes until the week before Christmas. So get out there! Yes, a tad earlier than usual, buta great way to start your day. Oh! And check in later to see what I cooked up with my wonderful farmers' market finds! I'll be sharing how to make my Cajun style shrimp with smoked sausage atop grits smothered in a heavy cream, white wine sauce with garlic, peppers and onions. It’s so delicious, it’s drinkable. I mean, not really, but you know. I kind of sometimes maybe accidentally on purpose make a personal serving a just to eat it…alone. (don't judge-this could soon be you.)
