5 Things to Get You in the Mood for Halloween

Hey guys! One of the most important (yes, important) holidays is approaching; Halloween. Halloween is such an important holiday not because of the costumes, parties or candy; it’s important because it’s the first holiday in Holiday Season (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s). So, I put together a list of activities to get you in the mood for Halloween.

  1. The Corn Maze

The corn maze is one of my favorite Halloween activities. Being the fraidy cat that I am, I don’t do demons, monsters, serial killers, etc. The corn maze is the perfect amount of scary for people like myself. No one pops out at you and you don’t end up peeing your pants like you would at other Halloween attractions. You basically get a map and find your way through a corn maze. It gets a little scary when the sun sets and you’re in the dark trying to find your way out of the corn maze. After you find your way out of the maze, they have homemade snacks and cider that are available for purchase…I think you can even get a picture taken or something (don’t take my word for it).

  1. The Baltimore Bike Party

The Baltimore Bike Party will depart on Friday night on Halloween weekend. You can dress up and ride your bike across the city with a bunch of people. You get amazing views of the city and may even stumble across places that you never knew existed. This is a great activity to meet new people and experience new places. Afterwards, there’s an after party so it’s basically a two for one…which is always great in my book.

  1. Field of Screams

I guess…if you like being scared half way to death then this activity is for you. I can’t really go into detail about this one because…I don’t play with demons. I guess you can get chased around with a chainsaw and pitchfork…again…not too sure what goes on. However, if you like this sort of thing, than go and get the shit scared out of you!

  1. Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival at Creative Alliance

The Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival is great for my creatives and those with little ones…and I guess anyone else who’s interested in Halloween parades. The parade will include creative costumes, cool lanterns, food and fun!

  1. Fells Point

Last, but not least…Fells Point. Fells Point never disappoints when you don’t have any plans for Halloween. The entire city (at least that’s what it looks like to me) comes out in their costumes to go bar hopping or…just to people watch. If you don’t mind a crowded area or walking a mile or two for your uber driver to find you then…this activity is perfect for you! There are tons of bar crawls during Halloween weekend, which means there are plenty of opportunities for you to dress up and get drunk!

Whatever you do this Halloween, please be safe. People are getting crazier and crazier these days. I hope you all get a chance to do something from the list above. Also, if you’re one of those obnoxious people who thinks it’s funny to dress up as a clown…go to hell. Happy Halloween!
